It is important to know that:

  1. We need minimum 11 participants for this event, otherwise the event will not take place. In case we don't have 11 participants all paid sums will be refunded.
  2. The dates for the trek are 03/09/2024 - 14/09/2024. Once we have the required number of participants, these dates will be confirmed.
  3. Try to arrive in Podgorica before Day 1. On Day 1 we will have a transfer to Shkodra or Theth. However the hike only starts on Day 2. 
  4. The decision where and when to meet at Podgorica will be made based once the airfares for September 2024 from Istanbul are available.
  5. Day 12 is reserved for a transfer from Shkodra to Podgorica airport. So if you want to leave for KL that day, you can do so provided your flight does not depart before noon.
  6. This trek brings us through medium high mountainous areas, ranging between 2000 to 2600m above sea level. 
  7. During the hike you will enjoy spectacular views of some of the highest mountains in the region Gjeravica in Kosovo, Talijanka and Vrh Bora in Montenegro and Maja Jezerec, Maja Rosit, Maja Kolata and Maja Harapit in Albania. 
  8. Expect cool but pleasant temperatures during the day.
  9. The total hiking distance will be around 170 kilometres and almost 10,000 metres elevation gain.
  10. We usually hike 6 to 8 hours a day so you will have ample time to recuperate for the next day.
  11. Luggage transport during the trek, with a maximum of 10 kg per person (no exception), will be arranged. You only have to carry what you need during the day. We will also try to make arrangements for the luggage that you don't need during the trek so it can be left in the ho(s)tel in Shkodra.
  12. Accommodation might be mixed, and two to five beds per room.
  13. We have a customised itinerary based on this 2023 basic itinerary. Main differences are one extra day + three meals, one extra breakfast, one extra night accommodation, private return airport transfer and luggage transfer.
  14. Guest houses might charge for all the extras you might require i.e. hot shower, boiled drinking water, warm water, charging batteries for phone/camera, internet connection, etc.
  15. Purchasing a travel insurance is compulsory.

  17. Keep in mind that there is always a chance that we are not allowed to climb certain areas due to dangerous conditions (eg landslide, earthquake, floods,...) or flight delay/cancellation - we cannot be held responsible for such cancellation.
