1. Make sure you have a gps navigation app (like ~in alphabetical order~ AllTrails (paid version), Gaia, Hiiker, Komoot, Maps.me, OSMAnd, Wikiloc,...) installed on your phone and make sure that it is working properly.
  2. Preferably choose an app that allows you to use offline maps and download the map of Malaysia.
  3. If you don't have an app installed yet, we suggest to use Hiiker to start with.
  4. Test whether the app you have installed is able to open the attached file 'Lanjan West Test'. After you have downloaded the file, click on Open and then select the navigation app that you have installed and want to use.
  5. If you get anything that looks like any of the pictures below, you're good to go...

  6. IMPORTANT: Do NOT come to the hiking venue if you are not able to get anything on your app which looks like the above pictures. If you are unable to do so with the app you have installed, try installing another app. We noticed that too many hikers come to the venue (and some of them reach a few minutes before the event starts...!) without having a navigation app installed or without prior trying/testing. If you keep on encountering issues - and only then - get in touch with us.
  7. At the venue we will provide a QR code that contains a link to the gpx file of the upcoming hike. After scanning the QR code you can either download or directly open the gpx file.
  8. Make sure your gps location in your phone is switched ON once you reach the hiking venue. Otherwise you will not be able to see where you actually are on the plotted trail.
