It is important to know that:

  1. We need 20 participants for this event, otherwise the event will not take place. In case we don't have 20 participants all paid sums will be refunded.
  2. Once we have the required number of participants, the event will be confirmed.
  3. Make sure to arrive in Kota Kinabalu airport on Day 1 before 11:00 am. The exact meet-up place and time will be provided in due time.
  4. On Day 1 we will take a van to the homestay. We will stay in the same place for three nights. The homestay has cooking facilities.
  5. On Day 2 we will be transferred with a 4WD to the trailhead of Gunung Nungkok - IBP 147.

IMPORTANT: Not respecting the cut-off time, set by the guides, will result in extra expenses for guides and 4WD transfer. These extra expenses have to be borne by the individual hiker and are not included in the package.
  6. The hike on Day 3 is optional. Those who want to relax in the homestay or spend time near the Kadamaian River can do so. Hikers will be transferred to Bukit Bongol - the Broga Hill of Kota Belud - IBP 54.

  7. On Day 4 we leave very, very early by van to the trailhead of Gunung Minodtuhan - IBP 139.

IMPORTANT: Not respecting the cut-off time, set by the guides, will result in extra expenses for guides and 4WD transfer. These extra expenses have to be borne by the individual hiker and are not included in the package.
  8. On Day 4, after the hike and washing up, we will leave immediately for Kota Kinabalu airport.
  9. On Day 4, the hike is expected to finish between 02:00 pm and 03:00 pm. We count an extra hour for washing up and three hours transfer to the airport. So do not book any flights which leave before 08:00 pm...! If you do, you will have to arrange transport to the airport on your own in case there is any delay whatsoever. Play it safe and book a flight after 09:00 pm and you will still reach KL at an acceptable time to get to work on Tuesday.
  10. The hikes itself are not that long, but do have a significant elevation gain. Even if you are not super fit, you can still join and turn back at any time. It's about the journey, not the destination...!
  11. During the hikes and at the homestay you will enjoy spectacular views of Mount Kinabalu and the surrounding lower mountains.
  12. Accommodation might be mixed, mainly in dorms.
  13. Where possible, meals are included in the package. Meals which are not provided are due to timing issues (i.e. no meals can be provided on Day 4).
  14. Purchasing a travel insurance is recommended.
  15. The mobile number of the event host can be found in the e-mail which you will receive after submitting the Participation Form.
  16. Keep in mind that there is always a chance that we are not allowed to climb certain areas due to dangerous conditions (eg landslide, earthquake, floods,...) or flight delay/cancellation - we cannot be held responsible for such cancellation.
