It is important to know that:
- We need 10 participants for this event, otherwise the event will not take place. In case we don't have 10 participants all paid sums will be refunded.
- Once we have the required number of participants, the event will be confirmed.
- Make sure to arrive in Tawau on Day 1 before noon. We will arrange transport from the airport at 12:00 pm.
- Make sure to change to your hiking clothes before your arrival. We will start with the first hike immediately after lunch.
- On Day 1 we will hike Bukit Panchang. It's is a moderate hike up a rocky, steep trail with some assist-ropes in place. After this afternoon hike, we drive to Semporna for overnight in a ho(s)tel.
- On Day 2 we will board a boat for a ride to Timbun Mata. We will have time for hiking and kayaking.
- The afternoon of Day 2 has two optional hikes: Taman Bukit Sarari and Bukit Tanjung Parapat. The latter is the ideal place to watch the sunset, weather permitting.
- On Day 3 we have another boat transfer, this time to Bohey Dulang Island. We will hike, snorkel and do some island hopping.
- On Day 4 we will drive to Balung Lost World and the Mount Wullersdorf hike.
- After the hike on Day 4 we will organise a transfer to the airport. If all goes according to plan we should reach the airport not earlier than 04:00 pm. Keep this in mind when you book your flights.
- Meals and drinks are not included in the package, except lunch on Day 2 and Day 3. This will give participants the chance to freely discover the local cuisine according to their budget and appetite.
- Participants who prefer to skip a hike can do so.
- All hikes are relatively short and are to be considered easy or very moderate.
- For some hikes we have to engage a local guide. The guide will always be with the group as we will hike together at all times for safety reasons.
- Purchasing a travel insurance is compulsory.
- The mobile number of the event host can be found in the e-mail which you will receive after submitting the Participation Form.
- Keep in mind that there is always a chance that we are not allowed to hike certain areas due to dangerous conditions (eg landslide, earthquake, floods,...) or flight delay/cancellation - we cannot be held responsible for such cancellation.
